How did our Earth look like 250 million years ago? What animals and plants lived at that time? These and more questions were answered by the geologists Dr. Mauro Alivernini and Silvia Kolomaznik during the 4th lecture of the Children's University Gotha. 25 curious children aged 8 to 12 attended the lecture and enthusiastically learned new things about the Bromacker and its inhabitants. They learned, for example, that the time span between the first appearance of humans and the extinction of the dinosaurs is much shorter (about 64 million years) than that between the extinction of the early tetrapods and the first appearance of Tyrannosaurus rex (about 184 million years). But also the hostile environmental conditions on the supercontinent Pangaea at that time as well as the formation of fossils were shown vividly and suitable for children.

The lecture time flew by quickly, all questions of the inquisitive little students could be answered and with new knowledge they left the event.
