The Easter Bunny rides a motorbike in Trusetal

Easter Festival with Great Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday 9 April 2023

For the second time in a row, Tourismus GmbH Brotterode-Trusetal organised the Great Easter Festival with Easter Egg Hunt at the Trusetal Waterfall on Easter Sunday, 9 April 2023. Very early in the morning, more than 2,000 Easter eggs were hidden by the "Easter Bunny's helpers" on the waterfall grounds and along the sound path. Children from near and far, armed with empty Easter baskets and their families in tow, rushed to the site before the start at 11:00 a.m. to find every last hidden egg. Besides the Easter egg hunt, there was so much more on this Easter Sunday, such as the petting zoo with a very young donkey foal, fuzzy rabbits and rabbit babies, ducks, chickens and chicks. In addition to the popular pony rides, the smaller children also had a lot of fun riding on the funicular railway. Thanks to the support of the associations from Brotterode-Trusetal, there were lots of hands-on and handicraft activities. First aid could be practised at the stand of the youth group of the local DRK association. The Café Wintersport, which reopened for the season on Maundy Thursday, provided visitors with delicious ice cream, cakes and coffee specialities, and a variety of sweet and savoury treats were available all over the festival site. Of course, the Easter Bunny and his entourage (Easter lamb, chick, mouse and bee) rode by in style on motorbikes with lots of sweets in their luggage to delight children and adults alike, the children for the tasty sweets and the adults for the fun photo motif. By late afternoon, more than 3,000 visitors had spent a wonderful Easter Sunday at the waterfall site in beautiful weather and were full of praise. And so, at the end of the day, the staff of the Tourismus GmbH were completely exhausted but overjoyed that the Easter festival was such a great success again this year.
