For three days, from 31 May to 2 June 2023, representatives of the UNESCO Global Geopark Thuringia Inselsberg - Drei Gleichen met with the two partner geoparks in the Austria House directly at the Bischofshofen ski jump, known worldwide and famous for the annual Four Hills Tour. The visitor centre of the UNESCO Global Geopark Ore of the Alps is located there. There were two occasions for the cooperation meeting: on the one hand, the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Austrian Geopark and, on the other hand, the LEADER cooperation of the three partner geoparks, which has also been going on for 10 years: UNESCO Global Geopark Thuringia Inselsberg - Drei Gleichen, UNESCO Global Geopark Ore of the Alps and National Geopark Porphyry Land - Rich in Stone in Saxony. The anniversaries already took place in 2021 and could only be celebrated this year due to the Corona pandemic. In addition to looking back on the long-standing friendship and already successfully completed projects, the focus was also on the future and ideas were developed for future joint LEADER projects in the geoparks, which are to be implemented with the start of the new LEADER funding period.
