Tourist mine "Hühn" in Trusetal

The barite and fluorite mine "Hühn" was operational until 1990 and is an authentic testimonial to the last and most comprehensive mining period in the Thuringian Forest. The exhibition in the former locker room of the mine presents an extraordinary collection of local iron, barite and copper minerals as well as animated models of historic mining technology. The final highlight of the 40 minute tour is a ride on the mine train.

You can find more offers in and around the "Hühn" visitor mine here (in German language only).
