Drei Gleichen

The WSA Dryland Sled Dog World Championships took place in the municipality of Drei Gleichen from 1 to 3 December 2023. The venues were "Gut Ringhofen" and the golf course near Mühlberg. Over 200 participants from 22 nations travelled to the event this weekend with their 800 sled dogs.

It all began on 17 July 2021, when we were invited to a round of talks to discuss for the first time whether we could imagine hosting a World Sled Dog Championship. After more than two years of preparation, we managed to organise this World Championship together with everyone involved.

During the two days of competition, many guests visited the title fights and were able to experience this fascinating sport live. The Minister President of the Free State of Thuringia, Bodo Ramelow, was also present as patron of the event and did not miss the opportunity to take a seat in a racing car.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who prepared and organised this world championship. Special thanks go to the Schlittenhundesportclub Thüringen e.V. (SSCT) and the World Sleddog Association (WSA) for organising the championships.

We would also like to thank the countless helpers from Mühlberg and the community of Drei Gleichen who contributed to the success of this event. None of this would have been possible without the co-operation of full-time and voluntary staff. So once again, a big thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this World Championships.
