Dear visitors of the UNESCO Global Geopark Thuringia Inselsberg - Drei Gleichen,

Unfortunately, we are reporting today on a matter that makes us thoughtful and sad, but which happens again and again: damage to forest taverns, signposts and information boards, as well as theft of the latter.

Unfortunately, this currently affects two overturned forest taverns in the Drei Gleichen area, which were or are still being restored at great expense. In September, nine large-format information boards were stolen from the Drei Gleichen area. The damage here alone amounts to about 10,000 €. This is not only annoying for you as visitors to the Geopark, but also for all Geopark stakeholders. At the end of the day, the furniture and the boards are public money, made possible by tax revenue, which makes an important contribution to the expansion and preservation of the UNESCO Global Geopark Thuringia Inselsberg - Drei Gleichen.

We have set up a special damage report system for cases of damage to property in the Geopark, which you can find here. Telephone notifications are accepted by the Friedrichroda town council on 03623/3320-0 or the Geopark Management Office in Erfurt on 0361/4229007. The tourist information offices in the Geopark are also grateful for information about damage to property. Please report any observations to us. Thank you very much!
