Rulha OT Kittelsthal
Last Saturday, 23 March, the Freundeskreis der Tropfsteinhöhle Kittelsthal e.V. once again demonstrated its commitment and connection with nature. Under a bright spring sky, ten members and six other volunteers came together to spruce up the area around the Kittelsthal Dripstone Cave for the upcoming opening of the season.
The work began at 11.00 a.m. under the direction of Michael Simon, the societies site manager. The list of planned tasks was varied, from cleaning the steps into the cave to installing new benches, which is why all the helpers set to work straight away. Leaves were cleared, loose branches were lopped and the neighbouring woodland was tidied up. The planting around the cave entrance was particularly pleasing, with club members bringing plants to beautify the area.
The cave railings were also given a new coat of paint, Easter decorations were hung up and the water drain in front of the cave was cleaned. A particular highlight was the installation of a signpost at the entrance area, which informs visitors about the hiking trails and accessible excursion destinations.
The organisers of the Freundeskreis der Tropfsteinhöhle Kittelsthal e.V. are overwhelmed by the positive response and would like to thank everyone involved for their support.
The season opening and Easter festival at the Kittelsthal Dripstone Cave will take place next Monday, 1 April. In addition to an Easter market, there will be numerous children's activities and an Easter egg hunt in the cave.
The Freundeskreis der Tropfsteinhöhle Kittelsthal e.V. is looking forward to a successful 2024 season. From 1 April, the cave will be open Thursdays to Sundays and on public holidays from 10:30-17:00. Guided tours take place every hour on the hour, last tour: 16:00.
