Friedrichroda

The Marienglashöhle Friedrichroda is one of the largest and most beautiful gypsum crystal caves in Europe. It was discovered through mining on anhydrite and copper shale and became a magnet for visitors while the mine was still in operation. Today it is a very popular destination for locals and holidaymakers in the Thuringian Forest.
