Ruhla, local area Kittelsthal
The young speleologists in Kittelsthal can confirm that nature is a good teacher. They meet under the expert guidance of geologist Jonathan Harjes to explore the secrets underground and above the earth. Sometimes the children aged 6 and over go into the depths of the dripstone cave, sometimes into the surrounding countryside - fun and good humour always included.
To ensure that the young cave explorers are well equipped for their weekly adventures, they were surprised with new T-shirts at the summer solstice celebration in the dripstone cave. These uniform T-shirts were made possible by a sponsorship from the company ‘HSI Automation GmbH’ from Krauthausen. ‘We are delighted to have such great regional companies supporting us in our work for the association,’ emphasised club chairman Jonathan Harjes in his speech during the handover ceremony. Afterwards, the children proudly presented their favourite stones in their new outfits.
The young cave explorers also meet during the holidays on Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m. on the grounds of the dripstone cave. Interested children can come along at any time and ‘have a taster’. The programme is free of charge. Information is available on: 0160 / 944 509 73 (J. Harjes).
