The German Commission for UNESCO met with representatives of UNESCO Global Geoparks from all over Germany in Gotha on 21-22 March 2023 to discuss and develop new cooperation strategies for a fruitful exchange of information and news within the geopark community. In particular, they discussed how to strengthen the public perception and awareness of geoparks and how to improve the education and research offered in geoparks. The meeting also gave participants the opportunity to get to know the BROMACKER Lab at Friedenstein Castle in Gotha and the world-famous Bromacker fossil site between Georgenthal and Tambach-Dietharz.
