Excavation start 2022 at the BROMACKER

On Monday, 25 July, this year's excavation season was opened at the Bromacker between Georgenthal and Tambach-Dietharz. After the sweaty clearing of the winter protective cover of rock debris, preparations are currently underway for the scientific excavation work that will be carried out over the next five weeks. The researchers of the BROMACKER project hope for many exciting finds and even more scientific insights into the Permian living environment of the Tambach Basin. During the excavation season, there will be guided tours on Wednesdays and Saturdays, during which you can look over the shoulders of the researchers.

Parallel to the excavations, the research drillings at the Hainfelsen and later at the Gallberg are also running at different times. Here you have the opportunity to experience the drilling work up close and ask the researchers questions.
