For a good 10 years now, the half-timbered house at Inselsbergstraße 83 in Bad Tabarz has once again been owned by the Jung family. Previously known as the "Romantik Schenke", it was already one of the top culinary addresses in Thuringia from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s.

Time brings change and innovation: how can a small restaurant with 28 seats be successfully integrated into the gastronomic landscape of Thuringia today?

A new concept had to be developed. Under the name "Anno 1700", the small restaurant now holds much more than just the year of construction of the house in which it is located.

Our philosophy is contemporary | limitless | enjoyment.

The culinary craft and innovation of the cuisine lies in merging home and the world. We offer our guests cuisine with predominantly regional, nature-oriented, seasonal influences to show them how good Thuringia can taste. From vegetables to meat and fish, from wine to beer, we now unite a local network of ten suppliers from the Thuringian region. This is how regionality works for us!

With various series of events, we underline our concept and its connection to the region and to our town of Bad Tabarz. Inspired by "strength and nature" and the Kneipp "5 elements doctrine", we always offer our guests new experiences on our culinary safari through Thuringia.

With the award as regional GEOfood partner of the UNESCO Global Geopark Thuringia Inselsberg - Drei Gleichen we feel honoured as the first restaurant nationwide.
