On July 26th 2021 the summer excavation campaign at the BROMACKER starts. The research teams of the Museum of Natural History Berlin, the Foundation Castle Friedenstein Gotha, the Institute of Geosciences of the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena and of the UNESCO Global Geopark Thuringia Inselsberg - Drei Gleichen look forward to a new excavation season and exciting fossil finds.

This year you will have the opportunity to look over the shoulders of the scientistst during guided tours, which will be conducted by the researchers themselves. The following dates are available:

Wednesdays, start 10:00 am, duration c. 1 hour

The number of participants is limited to 15. Due to the Corona pandemic a registration is necessary. Please, register by sending an e-mail to:

Guided tours for school classes or travel groups can be booked too. All offers are free of charge.

The meeting point for guided tours is the Steinhauer hut at the BROMACKER. A map with information on parking lots and the path to the hut is available here.
